It is not respectful to overshadow the deaths of legends like Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett with Michael Jackson, but as a child of the 80s, I need to pay my respects. I don't know one person my age (I'm 25) who wasn't inspired in some way by Michael Jackson...who didn't practice the moonwalk (horribly) for hours on end and listen to Thriller on repeat on their walkman. It wasn't just me, right?

One of my favorite tributes to Michael was when I was a junior in college. I took advanced lighting design, and while several students were choosing slow passionate songs full of rich deep colors and slow fades, I chose "Bad" by Michael Jackson. Just the intro alone had the potential to ruin me...three quick beats followed by a rapid succession song. I think it was a pretty unexpected choice because after the quick (successful!) intro, the class gave a quick clap and cheer. What a blast to see a favorite song in bursts of color across a proscenium stage. It was probably a small dream of mine to light the legend himself. As if I could have done him justice.

I hope you are moonwalking for Farrah and Ed across heaven tonight, Michael!

My heart is sad today.

I haven't been hiding away. I had the most lovely adventure in Tahoe last weekend for a wedding, and then promptly came down with the flu this week. No, no...not swine flu (settle down!)...just your run of the mill kill me now type of flu. I had to check myself into UCLA Medical Center for 5 hours yesterday because my ridiculously high fever hit 104 and that was that for me. I am not messing around with a fever...I've never had one so high!

Yes, I was at UCLA Medical Center just yesterday, where today, the end of an era took place and pop music died. It has been quite the sad and rough week for the entertainment industry. Rest in Peace...

Are you in shock as much as me?

I really need a pet.

Maybe one of these little guys? So cute!

Fallen Princesses.

What an interesting spin on Disney Princesses.

Betty White

This made my entire morning. Thanks Betty!!

Oh, hello!

I've taken a bit of a blogging break due to lack of overall inspiration in addition to lots going on in my life. With so many other great LA blogs out there (check out some of them to the right), I just felt like I wasn't able to keep up. After lunching with my friend Esther of e*star LA and chatting with the lovely Lauren of CHLOE'S CHÍC CONCEPTION, I was definitely missing the blog world. So, hello again.

I'm excited for so many things right now...mainly, a summer that is rapidly shaping up to be quite the adventure. Lots going on from here to the bay area, to New York, to Las Vegas! And to cap it off, a show I fiercely swore off of, The Hills, did the one thing possible to keep me on board. Hello, Kristin Cavallari! Finally, a cast member openly admitting to the ridiculousness of this show, and acting accordingly! I'm sure the shamelessness of good ol KC will bring lots of fun to the world of trashy "reality" tv.

So as much as I've enjoyed my anonymity these past couple months, it's nice to be back online.

Feel free to add me on Twitter...I'm private because, well, some adventures just need to be tweeted in real time, and I wouldn't want to come home to an empty apartment.

Cheers and happy summer!
